Chateau De La Couronne

“Carly & Darren came to France for their wedding.”

This is their story

“Château de La Couronne is tucked away between Bordeaux and Angoulême in South West France”

Carly and Darren asked me to photograph their special day at Couronne. Based in Hong Kong they were flying over to get married and have a party..

This is their story..

About Château de La Couronne.

The chateau sits in five acres of private grounds. Formal manicured gardens, terraces with tables and parasols, mature trees and shrubs to snooze under, and even your own football pitch for the more energetic. There is plenty of space to play games. Or to get away from games being played if you prefer!

And yet it’s on the edge of a working village so you don't need to get the car out to go to the boulangerie for your still-warm morning croissants. Even though it only has 600 inhabitants, the village supports a tabac, a boulangerie, a butcher, a general store, a pharmacy - even a doctor and a cinema! And when you stay here, you will quickly become recognised and treated as part of general village life.

The Big Day.

The buzz of getting ready and the added challenge of not running into each other. Not that that’s too difficult given the space Couronne offers, but you can never be too careful.

Beautiful Ceremony.

As I said before Couronne has it’s own beautifully manicured gardens, 5 acres.. So the ceremonies here are beautifully peaceful and literally two steps from the Chateau.

At end of the day.

Unlike some photographers, when you book me I’m with you all day. For me it’s about telling the story of your day, so to do that, I need to be there all day..

Château De La Couronne.

I shoot around 20 weddings every year here in France. So I get to see a lot of incredible venues. This Chateau is one of a select few that I regularly shoot at head over to my top five list to see which one is my all time favourite.
